"Your network is your net worth" a quote, often attributed to motivational speaker Tim Sanders, resonates deeply with me, especially when I reflect on my enduring connection with Katrina Berkov, founder of Evolve WA.
Over two decades ago, while still a student, I began collaborating with Katrina. She hired me as a freelance presenter to host murder mystery and time travel parties. This job was pivotal for me, largely due to Katrina's leadership style. Not only did she offer fun weekend work, she also guided me through the process of becoming a sole trader. Her detailed support made what could have been a daunting process seem easy for a 21-year-old. This single gig has underpinned my ability to work as a freelancer in various capacities ever since.
It fundamentally changed my perception of work, and I'm so grateful.
When Katrina launched Evolve WA four years ago, I ran the first "Presenting to Camera" workshop for her new venture.
